Case Studies
Shaping a National Policy Debate
When a leading trade association representing the nation’s top tech companies faced growing legislative momentum on a contentious digital policy, they turned to Guidant. Through qualitative and quantitative research, we developed messaging that reframed the debate and resonated with key Republican audiences. The association leveraged our insights to drive a nationwide campaign, successfully preventing the bill’s passage despite significant Congressional pressure.
Winning a High-Stakes Ballot Measure
Guidant managed the campaign to pass Amendment 2, legalizing sports betting in Missouri. Our team developed and executed a data-driven strategy to identify persuadable voters and deliver targeted, impactful messages. Despite record opposition spending, the measure passed narrowly, paving the way for legalized sports betting and over $100 million in new education funding for Missouri schools over five years.
Toppling a Political Dynasty
Guidant served as chief strategist and pollster for Keystone Renewal, the largest candidate-specific U.S. Senate SuperPAC in history, supporting Dave McCormick’s 2024 race in Pennsylvania. Facing a two-to-one financial disadvantage against Bob Casey and his allies, Keystone maximized every dollar by using data-driven strategies to identify and target voters critical to the race. This innovative approach helped McCormick overcome the odds and defeat an 18-year incumbent by just 15,115 votes.
Flipping a Battleground District
Guidant served as general consultant and pollster for Rob Bresnahan’s U.S. House campaign, guiding his upset victory over Democratic Congressman Matt Cartwright in Pennsylvania’s 8th District. We developed a comprehensive strategy to counter Cartwright’s financial edge, crafted data-driven messages that addressed voter concerns about inflation and border security in this blue-collar district and executed a robust voter contact program. Guidant was honored to help Bresnahan flip this long-held Democratic seat.
Crushing a Competitive Primary
Guidant helped Rep. Kelly Armstrong secure a decisive 73%-27% primary victory in North Dakota’s contentious 2024 gubernatorial race. As Armstrong’s pollster, we developed data-driven strategies and messaging to counter Lt. Gov. Tammy Miller, who was endorsed by the outgoing governor, heavily self-funded her campaign, and launched aggressive attacks that drew national attention. Guidant was proud to be a part of a team that overcame significant challenges to win a closely-watched primary.
